 Life can be hard. Life can be a struggle. Is ‘thinking positive’ really the way out or is it just a way of putting your head in the sand and pretending ‘everything’s just fine’? When it really gets tough, what you always can do, is look at the bright side of things.

Yesterday, I spent a whole day learning about Storytelling and how to use it to ‘spread my love’ to share my message with the world. One participant told me: “Life is a struggle.”

Make the following self test: look what happens to your mind and your body, if you think this: “Life is a struggle.” Feel what happens to your mind-body when you say it aloud…

I said to her: “Please don’t say this. This is a believe you have about life.” Our believes have immense power on our lives. The conscious and the unconscious ones. Our believes shape our thoughts and our thoughts shape our feelings. We have addressed how feelings affect our body and well-being in previous posts.

Look on the bright side

What can we do then? We can train the way we interpret and react to ‘life events’. We can choose to look at the bright side of life.

One of my readers left a comment and introduced me to soulpancake.com. The story they tell about themselves is: “We make stuff that makes you think, laugh, and cry. ”

I am not sure how scientific their ‘Science of Happiness’ is (the sample seems rather small), but in my opinion reflects this video and the stories of the people in it very well how you can learn and grow from hard times in your life.
